Gina Rasnic, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Gina Rasnic joined the Prime TMS team in December 2019. Gina worked as an RN since 1993, then went back to school to receive her Bachelor’s degree from UMKC in 2011 before completing her PMHNP at the University of Kansas (KC) in 2016. After working as an RN in various settings, Gina became personally interested in working in the mental health field when she was hired at an inpatient psychiatric facility. She likes to say she didn’t choose to work in mental health; it chose her.
11 years later, she continues to love her job and provides quality client care by personally attending to questions and medication refills between visits, referring clients to specialists when necessary, and making herself as available as possible for her clients. Gina enjoys working with people of all age groups and backgrounds, but particularly enjoys working with young adults with mood and/or anxiety disorders, women and children with trauma history, and veterans through the VA community care program.
Gina is originally from Kansas City, Kansas and moved to Lawrence in 2016. She has three adult children, two grandsons, and two pitbulls (who she considers her children since her kids left home). In her free time, Gina enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, movies, live music, and activities on water such as boating, fishing, and swimming. In 2020, Gina is looking forward to fun experiences with her loved ones and growing her new practice alongside Dr. Porter and the Prime TMS team.
